Round 15

Leading the way this week were Alice and Steph with 7, followed by Cathy with 6. Margot’s Carlton held on to beat the Crows today. The Crows could have pinched it if not for a few costly skills in errors in the final minutes. But Carlton were the better side for most of the day. The highlight of the week, though, was seeing Richmond lose…. again! How good was that?!

At the top of the ladder it’s still me by 1 from Janet, with Jeremy 3 further back, then Robert & Simmo equal, then Helen.

Round 14

This week people who got all 5 were: Alice, Annie, Judith, Matt, Robert & Simmo. At the top of the ladder it’s still me by 1 from Janet, Jeremy 2 further back, then stepping 1 at a time back to Robert, Simmo and Helen.

Speaking of the ladder, if you can’t find it, you need to click on the ‘ladder’ tab in the top panel.

The Crows will be back in action next week, against Carlton at Marvel Stadium (or whatever it’s called this year). Jeremy and I are hoping to go. It will depend on the rules about crowd attendances. Poor old Carlton (Margot’s team). If they lost to the Crows next week will Teague survive the chop?

Round 13

Janet and I led the way this week with 4. No one gets the tip in the North Melbourne-GWS draw. I know that other tipping comps do give the tip to everyone in the case of a draw but this comp has always done it the other way. Then 3’s to: Helen, Margot, Matt, Ray and Steph.

What a win for the Crows! How good is Riley Thilthorpe. Jeremy and I couldn’t believe it when he had that set shot from the boundary with about two minutes left. He just needed to get a point because at that stage it was looking like a draw was the best we could hope for, but he tried a drop punt and missed everything. Then a minute later when it ricocheted to him, and he thought to just boot it high back over his head…. amazing. Another heart-stopper of a game for the Crows. They’ve given us more than our fair share of those already this year, for a couple of losses and a couple of wins.

Round 12

A fair few of us got 5 out of 6 this week: Helen, Irene, Janet, Jeremy, Judith, Ray, Simmo and me. It’s still me leading by 1 from Jeremy and Janet with Robert and Simmo 2 further back.

Let’s hope the Crows can bounce back against St Kilda next week in Cairns.

Russell Ebert… what a champion. Have a look at the video that I have hyper-linked there.

Round 11

Leading the way with 7 this week were: Annie, Janet, Judith, Robert, Simmo and me. With Jeremy only getting 5, I have bumped him aside at the top of the ladder… for now anyway.

Gee the Crows looked great in the first quarter. Not much to speak of after that other than a few goals in a row at the start of the last. Let’s hope they can knock of Collingwood next week.

Round 10

What a win for the Crows!! How good was that?! 16 points down with 8 minutes left. It never looked like we could get back. Then right to the last minute it was looking like another heart-breaker of a loss. But what a win. Jeremy was hysterical during the last quarter then when we won he was in tears of joy for nearly an hour – seriously. Next week’s game against Richmond at the MCG is now more interesting. We’ll be there in the cheer squad.

I got all 9 this week. For anyone who might have noticed, when I put the tips up here on the blog on Friday night, I had my tip as Collingwood for the Collingwood-Port game, but that was a mistake. I spotted it Saturday night and fixed it and updated it here on the blog that night (before that game). So anyway, I got all 9. Three people got 8 – Alice, Matt and Steph.

Jeremy is now leading by 1 from me, then it steps down 1 at a time through the next 6 tipsters.

Go Crows! Hopefully they can still make the finals.

Round 9

(Jeremy is writing this week)

Another weekly win for Jeremy and has won weekly winner with 8 and now has also won weekly winner for 3 weeks straight and now leads top by 2 in front of Robert and Janet. With Robert Janet Simmo Craig Helen Judith Margot and Irene getting 7. Bottom of the ladder has swapped with Steph bottom and Cathy just above.

Round 8

After another good week Jeremy is now in the lead on his own. He got 8. Plenty of people get 7: Austin, Janet, Judith, Ray, Robert, Simmo and me. Jeremy is leading by 1 from Robert and Janet with Simmo and myself 1 further back. It’s a tight competition, as it is most years.

The Crows have now lost 4 on the trot with a tough draw ahead, but on the bright side, South had another win and are now 5-1. Should be a great game against Glenelg at Noarlunga on Saturday.

Round 7

The youngest people in the comp showed how it’s done this week. Austin (just turned 10) and Jeremy (turned 11 in January) led the way with 6. Well done boys. They are both in good shape on the ladder as well. Joint leaders are Robert, Janet and Jeremy. 1 behind are Simmo, Helen and me. And 1 further back is Aussie.

The Crows have suddenly hit rock bottom again. How is Matthew Nicks going to turn it around? South had their first loss of the season too.

Round 6

Helen leads the way with 7 this week and that gets her back into the joint lead with Robert and Simmo, with Janet 1 back. Cathy was the only person to get Gold Coast over Sydney.

What a soul-destroying loss for the Crows after being 32 points up. We had our chances at the end too. Ben Keays is such a valuable player but gee he made a mess of that set shot with two minutes left.
