Leading the way with 7 this week were: Annie, Janet, Judith, Robert, Simmo and me. With Jeremy only getting 5, I have bumped him aside at the top of the ladder… for now anyway.
Gee the Crows looked great in the first quarter. Not much to speak of after that other than a few goals in a row at the start of the last. Let’s hope they can knock of Collingwood next week.
What a win for the Crows!! How good was that?! 16 points down with 8 minutes left. It never looked like we could get back. Then right to the last minute it was looking like another heart-breaker of a loss. But what a win. Jeremy was hysterical during the last quarter then when we won he was in tears of joy for nearly an hour – seriously. Next week’s game against Richmond at the MCG is now more interesting. We’ll be there in the cheer squad.
I got all 9 this week. For anyone who might have noticed, when I put the tips up here on the blog on Friday night, I had my tip as Collingwood for the Collingwood-Port game, but that was a mistake. I spotted it Saturday night and fixed it and updated it here on the blog that night (before that game). So anyway, I got all 9. Three people got 8 – Alice, Matt and Steph.
Jeremy is now leading by 1 from me, then it steps down 1 at a time through the next 6 tipsters.
Go Crows! Hopefully they can still make the finals.
Another weekly win for Jeremy and has won weekly winner with 8 and now has also won weekly winner for 3 weeks straight and now leads top by 2 in front of Robert and Janet. With Robert Janet Simmo Craig Helen Judith Margot and Irene getting 7. Bottom of the ladder has swapped with Steph bottom and Cathy just above.
After another good week Jeremy is now in the lead on his own. He got 8. Plenty of people get 7: Austin, Janet, Judith, Ray, Robert, Simmo and me. Jeremy is leading by 1 from Robert and Janet with Simmo and myself 1 further back. It’s a tight competition, as it is most years.
The Crows have now lost 4 on the trot with a tough draw ahead, but on the bright side, South had another win and are now 5-1. Should be a great game against Glenelg at Noarlunga on Saturday.
The youngest people in the comp showed how it’s done this week. Austin (just turned 10) and Jeremy (turned 11 in January) led the way with 6. Well done boys. They are both in good shape on the ladder as well. Joint leaders are Robert, Janet and Jeremy. 1 behind are Simmo, Helen and me. And 1 further back is Aussie.
The Crows have suddenly hit rock bottom again. How is Matthew Nicks going to turn it around? South had their first loss of the season too.
Helen leads the way with 7 this week and that gets her back into the joint lead with Robert and Simmo, with Janet 1 back. Cathy was the only person to get Gold Coast over Sydney.
What a soul-destroying loss for the Crows after being 32 points up. We had our chances at the end too. Ben Keays is such a valuable player but gee he made a mess of that set shot with two minutes left.
Another week with a fair few people getting 7: Annie, Austin, Janet, Jeremy, Judith, Robert and Simmo. It’s a three way tie at the top: Robert, Jeremy and Simmo, with Helen and Janet 1 back.
The Crows were a disappointment against Freo today but I thought the comment of Bruce Abernethy on 7 News tonight was good. He mentioned how before the season started there were no expectations for the Crows, then they get themselves to 3 and 1 and suddenly there are high expectations. We need to be fair with the expectations.
Janet led the way this week with 7, then a lot of people got 6: Alice, Annie, Austin, Helen, Jeremy, Margot, Ray ,Robert, Simmo and Steph.
The lead is now shared by 4: Helen, Jeremy, Robert, Simmo.
In the end it was a good win for the crows. We were driving back to Melbourne and Jeremy was watching on his i-pad. The crows didn’t look at all switched on in the second and third quarters but their last quarter was a beauty. Hopefully they can keep that going against Freo at Adelaide Oval this Sunday.
It’s great to see Richmond lose two games running, and Margot’s team (Carlton) seemed to have turned the corner since putting Eddie Betts in the side (the Crows made him a champion, of course).
South had a great win against North at Prospect on Saturday. I was there and still haven’t fully recovered my voice.
It’s a 5-way tie at the top – Jeremy, Helen, Robert, Simmo and me. What an atmosphere it was at Adelaide Oval on Friday night. Gold Coast were fantastic but thank God we got the win.
Helen, Janet and Robert all got 8, which puts Helen and Robert into the joint lead.
Let’s hope the Crows can bounce back against Gold Coast this week.
Janet, myself and the kids are driving over to be in Adelaide over Easter and through the following week. Really looking forward to that. It’s Mum’s birthday on Good Friday. We’ll also be going to see the might Panthers play their Round 1 game as well as the Crows-Gold Coast game.
