Well done to Dee, our 2024 Champion. The tip-off with Ausi went all the way to yesterday’s grand final. As it turned out, a tie-breaker involving margins throughout the finals series wasn’t needed because they tipped differently in yesterday’s game. Ausi went for Sydney and Dee went for Brisbane.
Bad luck to Ausi, that’s for sure. For most of the year he had his nose in front on the ladder and, in the final minor round, for a little while it looked like he had it won, but like footy itself, anything can happen in tipping. I hope Ausi is back again next year to have another crack.
So, well done to Dee who stormed up the ladder in the last weeks of the season and now gets her name on the Honour Board as this year’s winner. I’ll arrange for her name to be engraved when I’m in Adelaide in November and will post a photo of it here on the blog.
Thanks to everyone for being involved and I’ll be back again next year for the 49th running of this comp. Janet, me, Jeremy and Vincent might be in Adelaide for a week around New Year. If we are, I’ll organise a lunch at Cafe Bongiorno on Belair Road, with Mum and Annie as well, and let everyone know in case anyone can come along.
Till then, have a good Christmas.
